Applications for Circle’s
Two-Year Conservatory & Summer Intensive
are accepted on a ROLLING BASIS
from October to July
The 2+2 Circle/Eckerd BFA has
two application options:
EARLY ACTION or
ROLLING ADMISSIONS (October to July)
* Both options are non-binding and
do not require a decision until May 1st

Circle in the Square prescreen requirements adhere to the criteria
as outlined by the Musical Theater Common Prescreen (MTCP)
* Acting Track Common Prescreen requirements are the same as the MTCP, without the singing component.
To apply for ALL Circle Programs, you will need to submit:
A recent headshot
Performance resume
Letters of recommendation from someone familiar with your acting and/or singing abilities
TWO letters lor the Two Year Conservatory and 2+2 Circle/Eckerd BFA
ONE letter for the Summer IntensivePre-screen audition videos

STEP 1:
Please take time to read through the MTCP Guidelines & Institutional Requirements carefully before filming and submitting your prescreen audition.

Be at least 17 years of age at the start of the September orientation
Hold a High School Diploma or its equivalent by September 1st of the school year

The Eckerd College application is available on the Common App, and the Circle application is available on Acceptd.

FAQs

A Contemporary monologue should be from a published (or written by a professional writer) play, and preferably written after 1990.
A professional writer is defined by the MTCP as someone whose plays have been produced, but may not have been professionally published.

A Classical monologue should have heightened language, and is typically written before 1950.
Please note: for the Two Year Conservatory, we require a Shakespearean monologue to fulfill the Classical Monologue requirement.
For other programs, we strongly prefer Shakespearean monologues as your classical piece.

If you are an actor applying for the Professional Theatre Workshop - Acting Track, you are only required to submit the Monologues portion of the Prescreen. You do NOT need to submit songs.

The Musical Theater Common Prescreen (MTCP) is an agreed upon set of criteria used for the videos that are required as part of the application process to musical theater programs. These institutions settled on given guidelines to initiate a streamlined process for both applicants and schools as well as to promote inclusivity in the admittance process.
